Library Guidelines
Students are allowed to take books out every library class. The students are permitted to take as many library books as the grade they are in. For example, grade one children take out one book while grade five children may take up to 5 books out. Kindergarten students are also allowed one book.
All books are due back the following cycle, so if your child has library on Day 1, the books will be due back on Day 1. Children who have the maximum number of books out they are allowed will not be allowed to take any other books out until some or all of the books are returned. If a child has a library book overdue by one month, he or she will not be permitted to take any more books out until the book is returned or the book is paid for. A letter will be sent home with your child at this time with the name of the book(s), the replacement value and the date it was due.
Library classes that fall on inservice days will usually be made up either the odd day before or after the inservice day. Books due on inservice days will not be counted as overdue until the next scheduled library day.
